Use a JSON definition, or a JSON wrapper with sourceText, sourceFormat (yaml or json), sourcePath, and authoringMode. The existing editor compiler preserves source metadata. When a resource has source text, edit that source: it remains authoritative over the compiled fields.

Saving updates this resource only; it does not remove other synced resources. Editor pushes can overwrite dashboard edits. Coordinate authoring with your checked-in source.
